The Deptford project is a long running project and this year launches The Deptford Project Gaffs. The gaffs are second hand custom built sheds and the project is to convert them into a new usable space to inhabit the area by Deptford train station. Richard Rogers Architects will be developing the site but in the meantime an art and design market will open up in the area. There are four sheds in total and Staurt Bannocks, Katy Hogarth and myself will be building one of them. Event opens on the 18th September.
Greengaged: As part of Greengaged coming up this September, a skip will be transformed into a green park area out the front of the Design Council on Bow Street. It will act as a meeting and resting point for London Design Festival goers as well as promoting sustainability in design and highlighting the Greengaged event. 'Greengaged at the Design Council is a programme of sustainability events, debates, workshops, exhibitions, seminars and masterclasses that will run during the London Design Festival 2008.
I installed this table tennis table in a skip on Rivington Street as part of YCN Live. It also housesd a bat and ball holder that works the same way a shopping trolley does. It requires a pound to use the bats but you get it back when you return the bat. It is just one of the peices designed by Jonathan Attenborough. |
